Any Plans for a Club Multi-Operator during the CQ WPX CW Contest this Weekend?

Just wondering if there would be a gathering at W1AN.

Wanting to see what Contesting is all about with the Pro’s!

  1. G’morning, Mike:

    I have pretty much decided that I will operate from home. I only know of 2 others who expressed a possible interest in pursuing a multi-op effort and I suspect that is not enough. Not to speak for John, but his shack has traditionally been open to visiting ops and/or observers and I suspect that he will probably respond to this.

  2. Hi Guys, the two stations will be set up for this weekends contest. Any CTRI member who would like to join in operating here from this QTH in CT is welcome. Looks like it will be a good weekend to be indoors.
    Bring your own snacks. There will be plenty of drinks and food. S&P ops are welcome of course.

  3. John,

    I’d like to show up Sunday late morning. You say “bring your own snacks” and “there will be plenty of drinks and food”. So what should I bring? I’ve never done this before – the only “radio thing” I have to bring is my callsign, and with that I’ve never operated on the air!

    Saturday I will be attending the funeral of a friend’s son – a young soldier whom committed suicide. Thus I will not be the contesting frame of mind Saturday.

  4. Greetings CTRI CG’ers;
    I will be operating from my QTH this weekend. Linda is doing well, but I am reluctant to leave her alone for much time at all. One of my objectives will be to increase my DXCC count on 80, 15 and 10. Hopefully there will be propagation. My antennas consist of a 40-m dipole and an 80-m inverted vee.
    Additionally, I will be operating with an alias: AI1D, the call sign of the Bozrah Chowder, Beer, and Propagation Society. Hopefully, the call sign will give me a few dB of gain to make up for any short comings of the antenna farm.

    So, if you hear me, give me a call. Good luck to everyone! See you in the pile-ups.

  5. Hi Mike, chips, pretzels, raisins, nuts are snacks. Fun food to keep your jaw busy while operating. Sunday is good. We’ll see if we can make a contest op out of you. Or at least get you interested in CW.
