Meeting Notice, June 15, 2013

It’s that time again. If you are familiar with the interactive meeting notice skip down to “Topics“. This is an interactive meeting notice. What, you may ask, is an interactive meeting notice? As the phrase suggests, it is a meeting notice which requires interaction by the readers. For example: we need to have topics for presentation at the meeting; we need presenters; we need volunteers to provide lunch; we need to know who is coming to the meeting so the quantity of lunch portions may be determined, and so on. This post will be updated as interactions (comments) are appended.

  1. I will attend. Perhaps a couple of us can split lunch duty so no one person pays for the whole thing? I’ll be the first volunteer.

  2. I’m hoping to be able to attend, but there is an outside chance that I will not. Put me down as attending, and if I can’t make it I’ll let you know. 73, Ken

  3. I will volunteer to help with Lunch as well, Pat. I will probably NOT be able to attend the meeting. Linda’s been having a really rough time of late. Unless we see a miracle this week, I don’t think I will be able to leave her along on that Saturday morning. I will say, she’s really doing much better since the surgery this past Tuesday evening – basically a repeat of the last time she was in the hospital – to clean out the lumpectomy wound and cleanse the infection.

    I do need a cell phone number that I can give to Randy, K5ZD, who will be making the WRTC presentation. It’s in case he gets lost and needs a talk-in.

    James, Mike, and I are coordinating it, but with only 4 people attending (so far) lunch will be pretty easy to manage.

  9. So far it looks like only 4 of us are definitely going to attend. If we can’t more members to go I suggest we cancel the June meeting and try for July. We should decide as soon as possible since we’ll need to let Randy, K5ZD know.

  11. Pat, we’ve got a number of members who positively refuse to indicate they are coming but show up nonetheless. We average 3 more attendees than signups. Also we have several that frequently don’t RSVP until the day before the meeting. So, I think it is too early to predict attendance yet.

    I think we could wait until Friday afternoon late to make the call. Do we have contact info for the speaker in case we want to call him off?

    The other consideration in this specific case is that the speaker is going to be videotaped (I know, the recording medium will actually be flash memory), so those missing the talk can see it later.

  13. Good point, Ed. I’ll check back after work to see how the attendance is doing, but we’re up to 6 definite attendees. If the average holds we might have 9 – 10 show up.

    I don’t have contact info for Randy, but it seems that Mike has been in touch with him.

  14. I have contact information for Randy. I will forward it to Pat, Ed, John, etc.

    As of Friday morning, it’s looking much better for Linda, so I might be able to get to the meeting. I don’t think I will get there early, nor stay late. I will make that call Saturday morning.

  15. Sorry to say that I will *not* be able to get to the meeting tomorrow. Mike… glad to hear that XYL is feeling a bit better.

  16. As of right now, I am planning on being at the meeting Saturday morning. I may have to leave early. I will help with lunch, as discussed earlier. Also, I will bring my video camera so we can record Randy’s presentation.

    If there are any plan changes in the morning, I will post it here, and send an e-mail as well. Otherwise, see you all in the morning.
