W1DX Multi-2 CW for CQWW This Weekend

The station will be open for operations this weekend for a Multi-2. So far, K1DM, W1WBB, K3IU and W1XX have expressed interest. I will attempt to put a schedule together of preferred times so we can all get in some hours. I will take a backup, fill in, support position for times when we have the chairs full. You can email me directly at W1AN(at)dxusa.net

  1. John, thanks for the opportunity to activate W1DX for CQWWDX CW. I will be returning from W. CT Friday afternoon so should arrive at W1DX by 5:30pm – NLT 6pm to prepare for 7pm (00Z) contest start. I would plan to depart Sat aftnoon/eve depending on other ops arrivals.

With limited # of expected operators is there interest in competing as a Multi-One, or (new category as of last year) as Multi-One LP?? I understand that allows us just one “running” position all weekend but the 2nd Mult-hunting position can keep you busy — just a thought if we are minimally manned for 48 hrs.

    Happy Thanksgiving & Good Contesting…73, Bill W1WBB

  2. Many thanks to you and Nancy, John, for your hospitality and the opportunity operate from your great station. Don’t know what the final score was yet, but I sure had a good time in contributing. I got home safely before dark, too. 🙂

  3. TNX John/Nancy. This was real fun operating both Friday and Saturday grave yard shifts on 80 and 160. Most exciting was working JA3YBK on 80 short path through a horrendous pileup…and then working him again from home on 80 LP. Also since I did not want to risk screwing up the amp tuned up for 80 (John had taken some well deserved sleep)…while I heard new mults on 160…called them with just 100 watts. It worked…even working three KH6s with 100 watts. John, your 160 really plays! This was a nice alternative to working single band at home…plus the camaraderie of the team effort. 73!! — John, W1XX
