WPX RTTY This Weekend!

We’re Setting up for a Multi-2 using the club call KE1S. Looks like it’s going to be a good weekend to be indoors and enjoying the activity. I’ve got the RBN set up and working and stations will be prepped to go at the start. Hope you can put some time in here or your home stations. Keep me posted on your plans, here or via email.

  2. I’ll be at John’s today from around 9 or 10 am til 5 or so. If anyone has some free time and wants to join in, come on over! If you’ve never worked RTTY or a RTTY contest before this is a great time to start.

  4. Got some activity in. 10 meters was useless but I was surprised that 15 so was so dead. So it was everyone squished down to 20 and 40. Twenty closed early both days. Lots of activity . I heard KE1S and that was about it for CTRI folks.

  5. I put in about3 hours on Saturday and then on Sunday decided not to be a wimp and hit the road for Ledyard (W1AN) to give a small hand to the KE1S M-2 effort. Was there for about 6 hours but big rates (well, even small ones) were hard to come by. Here is my score summary from home…..

Always an enjoyable contest. Not a full effort but a good time was had by all. Really good to see Pat NG1G break away from his busy schedule and get some BIC time!

This was the first time I had N1MM playing with fldigi, so it was a lot more fun relatively speaking, with a lot more Q’s, than what I’ve managed in past TTY efforts. QRP+wires doesn’t really work well for RTTY but I did catch some that surprised me. I see how it can get addicting, but it’s so slow…compared to CW, and in WPX you have to wait out a whole cycle to see if it’s a higher value target. See VE9AA’s rant on 3830! I did hear KE1S on 20 but you were busy 🙂 Nice to meet several of you last weekend–Dave K1SX
