ARRL RTTY RoundUp

Gentlemen,

Happy New Contesting Year !

We get started this weekend with the ARRL RTTY Roundup. http://www.arrl.org/rtty-roundup

It runs 1800Z 1/7 – 2400Z 1/8. Local: Saturday 1 pm till Sunday 7 pm. States are multipliers, so RI and CT are popular.

I’m going to try and put some time in and hope to see a couple of RI and CT mults in the log.

Anyone else planning a go at it?

Please post scores on the site and we can review at the Saturday January 14th meeting at the NK Library.

  1. Hope to put in a few hours. Conditions don’t look too bad considering the cycle. Good luck everyone!

  2. Spent more time than I planned but Sunday morning was dedicated to removing snow!

Overall had some fun but RTTY is different than other contests in its strict pace and that does get a bit tedious sometimes. And I must have copied a dozen different exchange formats. Some were short and others were filled with HNY, TU, Good Luck, etc!

Heard and worked Rick KI1G and James K1SD. Conditions were okay and no major geomagnetic issues but the loss of 10 and a diminished 15 make for pretty crowded conditions on 20. I really did not hear a lot of EU stations mainly because this is for all practical purposes a domestic W/VE contest.

    I thought I had 2 Qs on 10…

Mr. Snow put a damper on things, but still had big fun. Rick KI1G and Jim KS1J were my only CTRI QSOs. Saw John W1AN once or twice. I worked at least 5 times more MS than CT! Saw ME once, but he got chased off his freq before I could get him. Also missed ND and DC. Missed a LOT of Canada. Where were those guys?
